Don't get trapped... Avoid EP only mindset : read..every...word...

(  Factoid: An EP is like a mini album (hand full of songs)  )

Want to be a ONE HIT wonder? How about no hits?  Impatiently dropping an Extended Play List (EP) when no one knows who you are might get you less than that.

The EP HYPE is real for every up and coming artist.  You are probably being sold, by hook or crook, the idea of dropping an Extended Play List (EP) as the best way to get noticed.  The fact is, you cannot control the splashes that way.

EPs are rapidly becoming "So Last Year" because people are figuring out that dropping an EP is like "DROPPING A LEAD BALL INTO A BUCKET OF WATER".  Get the visual?... Let me help you....."ONE BIG SPLASH" and the ball sinks to the bottom.

No body cares about the bottom.

That is worse than second place.

If you are new to the game, dropping an EP as your first move, may not be your best move.  Look, technology is changing the music industry and the change is still happening.  Albums used to be the prime vehicle because record companies could rake in 7 times more for a little more vinyl and paper for 8 songs that never hit the airwaves.  I remember albums.  There usually are 3 of 4 songs that never made the radio and should have.  Once people had the albums, there was no incentive for record companies to promote those other songs beyond the threshold of DIMINISHING MARGINAL UTILITY. What is that?

Diminishing Marginal Utility of EPs: Image your friend buys five of your favorite candy bars.  Imagine your friend starts  to feed you the candy bars one by one, right after the other within a 30 second breather in between. That first candy bar is like heaven wrapped in chocolate. By the third candy bar you are not really feeling the heaven so much.  By candy bar five, well, its just ok.

The Heaven you felt at candy bar one your "Value" or your "UTILITY" (Feels Good = Value = UTILITY).    With each candy bar your heavenly high "DIMINISHES" by some small amount (amount = MARGIN).

Just like the candy bars, shoving an entire EP down someone's throat or ear, can lower how they value your art.  LOWER VALUE = LESS OPPORTUNITY FOR MONEY.   You have thrown several months of work at them all at once for them to get sick of it quick.   A LEAD BALL IN A BUCKET.

JAZE METHOD for  SUCCESS!

1) SLOW DOWN TO GO FAST

2) SPREAD OUT THE VALUE TO AVOID DIMINISHING MARGINAL UTILITY.

3) FOLLOW "The JAZE Method" TO BUILD LASTING SUCCESS
